The Israeli army struck Hamas positions in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday after a round of gunfire came from the Islamic Movement-controlled Palestinian enclave, he said. “The army is shelling a Hamas military position in the northern Gaza Strip following Israeli fire from the Gaza Strip,” the army said in a statement.
A bullet fired from Gaza hit an “industrial building” in Nativ Hazara, an Israeli town bordering Palestinian territory under a fifteen-year Israeli blockade, the military said, without specifying the extent of the damage. A witness told AFP that a Hamas base in Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza, a tiny enclave of 2.3 million people, had been targeted by several strikes.
