This impressive popularity has made SZA’s scheduled show tonight at the Wells Fargo Center in South Philly one of the most anticipated pop events of the year for the youngster, there with fellow Jersey singer Bruce Springsteen performing at Broad Street Arena later this month.
But alas, that will not be the case. It was announced Thursday morning on the Wells Fargo Center website that the show has been postponed. No reason was given, and no later date has been announced.
Venue ad text: “Fans are encouraged to reserve their tickets for the soon-to-be-announced date. All tickets will be honored.” A spokesman for the arena did not provide further information.
On Wednesday night, SZA was in Los Angeles where she was honored as Woman of the Year at the Billboard Women in Music Awards. “I was feeling like I didn’t belong,” said born singer Solána Imani Rowe in accepting the award. “I realized that the key is to remain open and available for anything the universe or God wants in your life. I want to be open and available for anything God wants for me.”
The next dates on the sold-out SOS tour will be at Madison Square Garden in New York on Saturday and Sunday. As of Thursday morning, those performances were still scheduled.
