The Phoenix Suns have emerged as a major contender to add Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
The Suns and Miami Heat It said He is in serious talks with Washington to acquire the three-time All-Star guard, who has a no-trade clause and can dictate where he lands if agreed.
Beal, a career high 22.1 points per scorer, was signed through the 2025-26 season with a player option at $57 million for 2026-27.
He is set to earn $46,741,590 next season at the age of 30 after signing a five-year, $251,019,650 contract with Washington.
To pull off a two-team deal, the Suns will likely need to enter at least one of Chris Paul and DeAndre Ayton’s contracts for Beal to join Devin Booker and Kevin Durant.
Paul remains with the Suns but could be waived by the June 28 deadline that would cut about $15 million from Phoenix’s paybooks for next season.
Base is set to make $30.8 million if he is retained after that deadline. He has another $30 million unsecured for 2024-25 left on his contract.
Ayton is set to make $32.5 million next season, with two more years left on his contract after that. Ayton played 67 regular season games, averaging 18.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks on 58.8% shooting.
Bell was on Team USA with Booker and Durant entering the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 but missed the games due to health and safety protocols.
He’s played 90 games in the NBA over the past two seasons, averaging 23.2 points per game on 48% shooting over that period.

The goalkeeper has not played more than 60 games in one season since 2018-2019, as he suffered a large number of injuries.
His last campaign ended early due to a left knee sprain and left wrist surgery, respectively.
The move would also put three Albatross contracts on the books for Phoenix – excluding Ayton and Paul – over the coming years with a new collective bargaining agreement that takes effect on July 1.
Booker’s extension begins prior to the 2024-25 season where he will bring in $224.2 million over four years. He will earn $36 million this season.
Durant has three years left and his cap will be $47.6 million this year.

The Suns haven’t escaped second runs in their last two rounds of the playoffs, and the addition of a scorer of Beal’s caliber, though risky, would establish a dynamic new offensive trio to push into the competition.
