Twitter users were flustered after Sunday night’s finale of Sam Levinson’s controversial HBO series, “The Idol,” with some saying it was “a waste of everyone’s time” while another called it “straightforward trash.”
Darby Shaw tweeted, referring to Sam Levinson to replace original director Amy Seimetz.
Many have been left baffled by pop singer Jocelyn’s (Lili-Rose Depp) flopping affection for abusive teacher Tedros (Abel Tesfaye). “I’m so confused when this jump happened on the show where Jocelyn hates Tedros too why would she still leave him around if she hates him?” Tweet @cianf8 as the final kicked off when Jocelyn asked Tedros out of her house.
“I can’t be the only one who feels like we skipped a bunch of the narrative between last week’s episode and the end of tonight. Last weekend, Jocelyn was justifying Tedros’ abusive past and now I’m done with The Bachelor.” Andre Clemonswho also called the ending “straight-up trash”.
Others found the finale “rushed” and many felt, thanks to a misleading “missing episode” article, that the show had overlooked some important details. The show was originally going to be six episodes under Seimetz, but it was always going to be five episodes with Levinson in charge.
Viewerswifts_dany called the series “the worst show I’ve ever watched,” saying, “I can tell the diameter of Lily-Rose Depp’s nipples but I don’t know the story of the show.” “
Others talked about variations of “The Idol really turned into 5 hours of…” Rachel Sinnott trying to be a responsible girlfriend who was constantly insulted by The Weeknd, b) “The Weeknd has been dressed as a vampire from Jedi Hallowe the Soul some say Stranger things.”
