Dr. Benjamin Mach is married with two children.
A hospital in Collierville, Tennessee was rocked by a bloody attack Tuesday afternoon. Dr. Benjamin Mach, a highly respected orthopedic surgeon, was shot and killed by a patient. According to The Daily Beast, Larry Pickens waited in the waiting room for hours before bursting into the doctor’s exam room and shooting him. Police could do nothing for the 43-year-old orthopedic specialist, married father of two, who intervened within five minutes of the incident.
Susan Baker walked into the clinic when tragedy struck. “A man will not go home with his family tonight. It could be anyone else in this clinic today,” she said WREG, shed tears. As of now, the 29-year-old suspect’s motive is unclear. After his action, Larry Pickens left the building without causing further casualties, claiming that Dr. Mack was personally targeted. “It looks like an interaction between two people. It’s ugly. It’s horrible. It’s horrible,” said local police chief Dale Lane.
For his part, Memphis Senator Raumesh Akbari said the suspect had been threatening Dr. Mauk for more than a week. Collierville police don’t know. “We are shocked and heartbroken to confirm that this incident has resulted in the tragic loss of one of our most respected and beloved physicians,” the hospital said in a statement. On social media, tributes paid to the late surgeon Raini. For example, after a car accident in 2021, a netizen said that Dr. Mak was the only doctor who made a good diagnosis and treated him properly.
Last month, the Institute for Health Care Research named the orthopedic surgeon a top doctor in Memphis.
