The more you know!

Some of the mysterious symbols that appear on your iPhone are now being revealed, and they have more meaning behind them than one might think.

If you’ve ever looked at your weather app and found a little white dot on the temperature indicator bar for that day, there’s a reason for that – it’s meant to show where on the scale the current temperature is lower, According to the sun.

The small white dot is also used to show where the UV Index is for the day, as well as sunset times.

So, for example, if the high point of the day is supposed to be 90 degrees, and the white point is at the end of the scale, that means the temperature has reached the high point of the day.

This feature was introduced in 2021, when Apple released iOS 15.

There are also some other icons you may not be aware of – like the orange dot at the top of your screen, near where the battery life and wifi icons are.

According to Apple Themselves, if the orange dot is present, it means that your microphone is being used, either by your phone or by another app in the background.

And if there is a green dot instead of an orange dot, it indicates that the camera or the camera and microphone are being used by an app on your smartphone.

Also note that if the time on your phone is surrounded by a different colored bubble, there’s a meaning to that too — if it’s blue, that means your phone is using screen mirroring, and if it’s red, that means your phone is recording.

There are other spots that can appear on your iPhone as well.
