Nintendo Switch Sports return the We Sports Brand on Switch At the end of April 2022However, before its proper release, Nintendo will be conducting an online play test of the game over the weekend to test the capacity of its online network, evaluate various technical aspects, and weed out any online multiplayer kinks ahead of the game’s global release.
If you have an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription – or even just one trial subscription – you can sign up for this multiplayer beta that starts on February 18 and ends on February 20, with five 45-minute sessions available to join.

Nintendo Switch Sports Online Test Dates and Times
When is the online play test date?
The Nintendo Switch Sports Online Play Test will run over three days (or two days, depending on your region) Starting Friday, February 18th And the to finish Sunday 20 February.
There will be a total of five global testing sessions, each of 45 minutes duration. Below are the dates and times of each online game test session with the corresponding time zone information (24-hour format).
Please note that in two cases, European times occur after midnight, very early in the morning of the following day (indicated below):

- 19:00-19:45 PST / 22:00-22:45 EST / 03:00-03:45 GMT (February 19) / 04:00-04:45 CET (February 19)
February 19
- 03:00-03:45 PST / 06:00-06:45 EST / 11:00-11:45 GMT / 12:00-12:45 CET
- 11:00-11:45 PST / 14:00-14:45 EST / 19:00-19: 45 GMT / 20:00.20: 45 CET
- 19:00-19:45 PST / 22:00-22:45 EST / 03:00-03:45 GMT (20 February) / 04:00-04:45 CET (20 February)

What sports does the online play test include?
Online matches against random players will be available in the following three sports of the game:
- Tennis
- bowling
- Champara (sword fighting)
It should be noted that this is largely a “test” of the online service, so turbulence should be expected, especially in previous sessions.
How do I register for the Nintendo Switch Sports Online Play Test?
Registration opens on February 15 at the following times:
- 5 PM PST / 8 PM EST / 1 AM GMT (16 February) / 2 a.m. CET (16 February)
Follow the link below to go to the Nintendo website and sign up for a 16-digit trial download code that you can redeem via the Nintendo Switch online store on your console:
The online play test is set up like platinum points redemption, except that it doesn’t cost any platinum points. Simply sign in with your Nintendo account, “redeem” points and click “Check Details” to reveal the download code:
How do I redeem my online play test download code?
Two options:
- visit https://ec.nintendo.com/redeem#/ While logging into your Nintendo account via the Nintendo website and entering the code there
- Visit the Nintendo Switch Online Store on your console and click “Redeem Code” in the lower left corner, then enter the online play test code
Once recovered, the Play Test icon will appear online and download to your Switch.

The Nintendo of America page notes the following restrictions for participants:
Online play testing software is in development and may not reflect the full Nintendo Switch Sports version. You may encounter unexpected behaviors or errors while playing the game.
By downloading and participating in the Nintendo Switch Sports Online Play Test, you agree not to publicly share any details of this online play test, including on your social media channels.
Online Game Test may be terminated without notice. Session times may also be shortened or extended without prior notice.
Saved data from the online game play test cannot be transferred to the full game.
The bonus code expires on February 20, 2022 at 03:59 AM PST.

The Nintendo Switch Sports Online Play test is not compatible with the Nintendo Switch Lite.
Enrollment is only available to players with an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription, although this includes anyone currently using the service via a free trial.
Nintendo notes that “registrations are limited,” so if you desperately want an early look at the game before its release in April, be sure to sign up sooner rather than later.
When is the Nintendo Switch Sports released?
