Manchester United returned Casemiro to the midfield position for a duo with Harry Maguire, while on the attacking line, Rasmus Hoylund was at the top of the net.
The first half of the match progressed to the 19th minute, and Manchester United had a golden opportunity when Casemiro sent a long ball from the defense to Marcus Rashford, who went one-on-one and shot it from close range, but it fell outside the far post.
Manchester United controlled the game until the 24th minute, taking a 1-0 lead from the moment Diogo Dalot slid in at the far post to slot Scott McTominay in front of goal.
In the 45th minute, Manchester United almost scored a second goal when Marcus Rashford came out on his own to hit the first post but still had to make a save from Bradley Collins.

However, in the 71st minute, Coventry beat the Whites to make it 1-3, Fabio Tavares, the substitute, opened up the ball for Ellis Sims to press with his right hand into the penalty area and send the ball into the goal.

In the 106th minute of extra time, the “Red Devils” had an opportunity from substitute Omari Forson to shoot outside the penalty area, and the ball bounced off a Coventry player and approached the post.
In the 116th minute, the Coventry fans almost cheered after the talented striker Ellis Sims shot against Onana, but it hit the crossbar before rebounding and hitting the post, leaving the “Red Devils” alive.
In the 120+3 minute, Coventry sent the ball into the net, but the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology confirmed that there was offside.
At the end of 120 minutes, the score was still tied at 3-3 and had to be decided on penalties. As it turned out, Manchester United took the penalty more accurately although Casemiro missed the first shot before Andre Onana helped save the spot-kick and it was Coventry who missed the shot over the bar before Rasmus Hoylund came on to score the decisive shot and send the ball into the bottom of the net, resulting in The Red Devils won 4-2 and advanced to the final against former champion Manchester City on May 25.
