MediaTek is launching an upgraded version of its flagship chipset, Dimensity 9300+, as scheduled, bringing upgraded CPU speed, power-efficient GPU and APU for faster processing than before. Come to the details as below.
Starting with the CPU first, Dimensity 9300+ comes with an octa-core CPU, 4nm architecture, and 3 cluster types (1+3+4), divided into
- 1 x Cortex-X4 3.4GHz
- 3 x Cortex-X4 2.85GHz
- 4 x Cortex-A720 at 2GHz
This increases the core clock speed from 3.25GHz to 3.4GHz, while memory support remains the same, with RAM maxing out at LPDDR5T and UFS 4.0.
As for the GPU, it uses the same 12-core Immortalis-G720 processor that supports Ray Tracing and MediaTek claims it can run games at a frame rate of 90fps, saving 20% more battery than competitors.
A serious upgrade point in this roundup is the AI as it has the APU 790 which helps make AI processing faster and safer. The Dimensity 9300+ also supports LoRA Fusion and NeuroPilot LoRA Fusion 2.0 models on the device, increasing performance by up to 10.%
MediaTek has also cooperated with AI partners such as AI Yi-Nano, Alibaba Cloud Qwen LLM, Baichuan AI, ERNIE-3.5-SE, Google Gemini Nano, Meta Llama 2 & Llama 3 and others for excellent AI capabilities as well.
The smartphones that will use the Dimensity 9300+ chip are expected to be new flagships from Vivo, including the X100s, X100s Pro, and iQOO Neo9s Pro that are already scheduled to launch this month.
