Samsung fans, get ready: The price of the Galaxy S25 Ultra could be higher.

The most powerful chip for the next flagship Android device likely won't be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which Qualcomm will launch on October 24. We will see many flagship smartphones using this particular chip. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra currently uses the Snapdragon 8 chip, while the successor to the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ will use the Exynos chip in many countries.

Guo Ming Chi Kuo reported that Qualcomm will begin production orders for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in the second half of this year. But the bad news for this year is that the cost of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will rise, which affects the price of the smartphone as well.

Sources revealed that the production cost of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will rise by 25-30% compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which is priced at $200 or around 7,400 baht, while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 may cost between $237.5-260 coins or so. Almost 9,500 baht, which is a significant increase.

The reason for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 price increase comes from a different manufacturing process, as it uses the TSMC N3E node, the same technology used to produce the Apple A18 Pro.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset will be in high demand as current AI trends require powerful processors. Sources say the new flagship chip will no longer have a low-power core. But it will consist of a CPU Phoenix with 2 powerful processing cores and a CPU Phoenix with 6 mid-range processing cores where the company also has to fight with competitors like the MediaTek Dimensity 9400.
