In the first half, Slovakia immediately turned on its face, forcing Anatoly Trubin, who was guarding the post in place of Andriy Lunin, to make a save. Until the 17th minute, they were unable to resist when Lukas Hraslin shot a high ball into the penalty area. The ball fell from the far post into the path of Ivan Schranz, who shot the ball into the ground and bounced into the net, which was his second goal in a row as well, and then Ukraine had the same opportunity for a moment. Oleksandr Tymchik hit the post and Mikaylo Modric's shot came close to saving Martin Dubravka before half-time with that score.
In the second half, Ukraine improved the game in the 54th minute with a counterattack. Oleksandr Zinchenko stepped up and shot the ball in the middle, and Mykola Chaparenko put it at the first post to make the score 1-1, but it was not enough at the end of the match in the 80th minute. This time, Chaparenko fell back. Substitute Roman Yaremchuk absorbed the ball beautifully and dropped it calmly, so Dubravka escaped and sent the ball past Leading 2-1.
In the remaining time, the Slovakian team attacked strongly, but was unable to come back. At the end of the match, Ukraine prevailed 2-1 and claimed the first three points, hoping to qualify for the next round in Group Five, by meeting Belgium. While Slovakia will meet Romania, on Wednesday evening, June 26, Thailand time, at 11:00 pm.
