On July 2, 2024, at Royal Hua Hin Golf Club, Prachuap Province, Mr. Apichai Chatchalermkit, Deputy Governor for Tourism Products and Business. Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Mr. Suwit Ryanrungroang, President of Prachuap Khiri Khan-Phetchaburi Golf Association, Mr. Mithi Suthat Na Ayutthaya, Former President of the Professional Golf Association of Thailand, Mr. Sumit Inthamaara, General Manager of Springfield Royal Country Club Golf Club, “Pro Mai” Prayat Maksaeng and “Pro Play” Sarini Leksuan joined the press conference to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Royal Hua Hin Golf Club and the 100th anniversary of Golf Day in Thailand, Mr. Ashwan Kongkanan, Director of TAT Prachuap Office, Mr. Niti Wongwichasawat, Director of TAT Phetchaburi Office, Ms. Wasana Srikanchana, President of Hua Hin/Cha Am Tourism Business Association, and Mr. Amnat Pankaew, Director of Royal Hua Hin Golf Club. Many distinguished guests attended to listen.
The “Thai Golf Day” is scheduled to be held on June 28 every year. Because on this day in 1924, His Majesty King Rama VI played golf for the first time at the Royal Hua Hin Golf Course. It is a historic day for the start of golf competitions in Thailand. Most importantly, it commemorates His Majesty King Rama VI on June 28, 2014, which is the “100th Anniversary of Thai Golf Day”.
Mr. Suwit Rianruangruang said that the Prachuap-Phetchaburi Golf Association held a ceremony to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Thai Golf Day. At the Royal Hua Hin Golf Course on July 13, there will be an exhibition of the history and development of golf in Thailand. And many activities including the “National Golf Day of Thailand” (100th Anniversary) golf competition to compete for the Federation Cup. At the golf courses in Hua Hin Cha Am area, a total of 6 times, including Royal Hua Hin Golf Course, Palm Hills Golf Club & Residence, Royal Springfield Country Club, Sibin Golf Course, Lake View Golf Resort & Club, Majestic Creek Golf Club & Resort from July to August 2024, we would like to invite all tourists and golfers to join the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Royal Hua Hin Golf Course and the 100th anniversary of Thai Golf Day to be part of the history of Thai-style golf that has existed for hundreds of years.
