Changing attitudes and lifestyles of the new generation in Taiwan are making the number of newborns less and less. In 2023, Taiwan will have the lowest birth rate in the world. There were 135,571 newborns, compared to the number of pets (dogs and cats) which are constantly increasing. According to statistics from the Taiwanese Ministry of Agriculture, in 2023, the number of dogs and cats registered as pets in Taiwan was more than 230,000, the total number of dogs registered as pets in Taiwan was 1.48 million, the number of cats registered as pets was 1.48 million, and the number is 1.31 million, with the number of people raising cats increasing at a higher rate than raising dogs. This is because cats require less space to raise than dogs. This is in line with the living conditions of Taiwanese people, who often live in housing units with limited space. Moreover, for every 3 households in Taiwan, there is one household with a pet at home. The total market value of pet products in Taiwan is estimated to be around 66,000 million baht annually.
Thailand is the main source of imports of pet products for Taiwan. Especially in the field of dog and cat food (HS code: 230910), Taiwan imported dog and cat food products from abroad in 2023 with a total value of US$263.72 million. This is the largest import from Thailand, worth US$87.18 million. Taiwan accounted for 33.05 percent of the total imports of dog and cat food. In the form of a booth in Thailand, which received the attention of importers from Taiwan and abroad.
As Thailand is the first important source of import of pet food in Taiwan, there are many importers interested in negotiating business with Thai exporters in related products. Besides pet food, Thai pet lifestyle products are another potential product in Taiwan market. Because the products are beautiful and attract visitors' eyes. It also fits with modern consumer concepts that prefer products that come from natural ingredients. Which can meet the needs of Taiwanese consumers very well

Standing Committee Suggestions/Opinions.
While participating in the Taipei Pet Show this time, STC Manila (Part 2) invited important importers to visit the Thai pavilion and negotiate business with Thai exporters at booths such as Pet Park, Bone Bone Store, and Asia Pet, including purchasing staff from Taiwan's giant hypermarkets RT-Mart and Carrefour, and Taiwan's famous drugstore chain, Great Tree, as Thai products are gaining great popularity, and the response from visitors to the show this year was very good. The shape of the Thai booth made it easily noticeable. In addition, Thai products are of high quality and are already well-received. As a result, there are many Taiwanese and foreign entrepreneurs interested in negotiating business with Thai entrepreneurs.
Trade Negotiations This time, Thai exporters have the opportunity to negotiate with nearly 200 importers from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, ASEAN, the Middle East and France, among other countries, with an expected order value of more than US$2.5 million annually.
