This came after the US earlier released lower-than-expected nonfarm payrolls figures for July. The unemployment rate rose to its highest in nearly three years, making investors more confident that the Federal Reserve could cut interest rates by as much as 0.50% at its monetary policy meeting on September 17-18.

The US is scheduled to release the Producer Price Index (PPI) for July on Tuesday (August 13), followed by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for July on Wednesday (August 14) and Retail Sales for July on Thursday (August 15).

On Friday, foreign investors bought a net 9.012 million baht in the Thai bond market, while they bought a net 52 million baht in the Thai stock market.
