The Reds have signed Chiesa for a very cheap €13m release clause.

Premier League giants Liverpool have reached an agreement to sign Italy international winger Federico Chiesa from Juventus to play at Anfield. It has already been completed. Wednesday 28 August

Fabrizio Romano, a journalist from Italy, revealed that the transfer fee for this 26-year-old star will be 13 million euros or approximately 494 million baht and the player will sign a 4-year contract with Liverpool.

“Federico Chiesa moves to Liverpool, here we go! An agreement has been reached for €13m plus add-ons, a 4-year contract for Chiesa as Liverpool's new signing, and he is set to leave today,” Romano said on social media.

Chiesa is Liverpool's second signing of the summer after Giorgi Mamardashvili. The Georgia goalkeeper was bought from Valencia for €30m (around 1,140m baht) plus a €5m (around 190m baht) bonus, but will let 'The Bat' go on loan for this season first.

The 26-year-old reportedly arrived at Liverpool John Lennon Airport at around 4.30pm local time on Wednesday before travelling to undergo a physical and sign a four-year deal with a new agency who flew in by private jet from Turin to continue with the paperwork with the Reds.

Juventus allowed the player to travel for a medical. With only one year left on his contract, the Bianconeri are willing to sell the player rather than let him leave for free next summer. Although €13m is not much, it is better than having to lose for nothing.

By Federico Chiesa, also spoke to reporters upon his arrival at Liverpool, saying: “I am very happy. I can’t wait to become a new Liverpool player, my family and I are really happy.

“I would like to thank the club and all the Juventus fans for all the great times we had together. But now it's my time. Liverpool is where I'm very happy.”
