Washington is ready for “tough decisions” to save the deal

The United States on Monday said it was “ready to take tough decisions” to defend the deal aimed at preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, while insisting that it was preparing for the failure of negotiations. France, which co-signed the agreement, called for an end to the “emergency” as major progress was made on Iran’s nuclear program.

“There has been significant progress in recent weeks, but I would like to clarify whether a deal is immediate or uncertain,” said Nate Price, as if to dampen the confidence that had prevailed among negotiators since the beginning of March.
