CM Punk as AEW World Champion made an early bump in the road.
Just five days after becoming champion, the 43-year-old Punk announced on Friday night’s episode of frenzy He suffered an injury that required surgery. Punk will not be giving up the AEW World Championship, but a temporary champion will be crowned in his absence.
Bank described the injury as a broken “wheel”. He promised to come back bigger, faster, stronger and hungrier than ever.

“The bad news is I’m injured and need surgery. A couple of things are off. The biggest one is my heart because I love nothing more than performing for all of you, and I wanted to run in one hell of it,” Punk said.

“The good news is that I can still do all that. I told you I’m going until the wheels fall off. Well, the wheels are still there, and they haven’t fallen off. It’s just that one of them broke. But I’m back from worse. I felt better than I do today, But I’m here to tell you that I also felt a hell of a lot worse. This is a bump in the road. It hurts. It hurts like hell. I want to wrestle for you.”
