SpainAfter the abduction, the child was safely on the doorstep
On Wednesday evening, a young woman slipped into a maternity hospital in Bilbao, Basque Country, and abducted her newborn. The police arrested him and the boy is safe.
A 24-year-old woman was arrested in Spain’s Basque Country on Thursday for kidnapping a child disguised as a doctor after a child was found healthy on her doorstep hours later, local authorities said. A spokesman for regional police said the kidnapper, who was “arrested at around 10:45am” in another district of Bilbao, rang the doorbell of the apartment before fleeing.
Dressed in a “white doctor’s coat”, he entered the maternity ward of the Basurto Hospital in Bilbao at around 9pm on Wednesday, where he delivered the baby. And, “everything points to the fact that this woman tried to kidnap several children,” assured regional security manager Josue Ergorega. “She went into several rooms where the mothers were, and tried to perform the same operation, without success.”
According to several Spanish media, residents of the neighborhood where little Aimar was found confirmed that, according to them, she told them where this girl lived, that she was pregnant some time before the abduction, and even bought a stroller. .
