Over 6000 attendees at the wild rave party

More than 6,000 people turned out on Sunday morning for a wild rave party that started on Friday night in the countryside of Ain, 90 km southwest of Geneva.

A wild rave party that began Friday evening in the Ain countryside had more than 6,000 participants Sunday morning, announced the province, which sent gendarmes and emergency personnel to the scene. During the night from Saturday to Sunday, emergency services treated 26 people, one of whom was evacuated to a hospital center following a shoulder trauma, the province said in a press release.

Around 3,000 people attended a banned rave party organized in the town of Lombnas, 90 km southwest of Geneva, on Saturday morning. Thirty firefighters and members of several civil defense associations are ensuring constant presence at the first aid station set up at the site, and first aid doctors will take turns at the medical station set up in Lombnas village, the prefecture said.

Natural area

Volunteers from the Speleo Rescue Association also mobilized to protect the various cavities in the immediate vicinity. Additionally, 25 gendarmes have been mobilized since the start of the event to “ensure flow control and perimeter security of the event”.

The site is a sensitive area classified as a Natural Area of ​​Ecological, Fauna and Flora Interest (ZNIEFF). Organizers will be asked to restore it, belonging to the province, which condemned the party’s organization for “complete disregard for the basic rules of health and fire safety”. The mayor of the city and the landowners of the land filed a complaint with the gendarmerie services for illegal occupation, he said.
