The knife-wielding man was shot dead by police
A knife-wielding “menacing man” was shot dead by police at Rossii Airport on Wednesday.
We have learned from airport and police sources that a man was shot dead by police at Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport Wednesday morning after brandishing a knife.
“In a show of calm, police neutralized a threatening man with a knife at Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport this morning,” Paris police headquarters said on its Twitter account.
These facts took place at Terminal 2F around 8:20 am when “a homeless man disturbed the security agents and the Border Police (PAF) was called in to evict him,” an airport source said.
The man walks away, insulting them, turns and pulls out a knife. A police officer then used his weapon, police sources said.
“Only one shot was fired”
An AFP photographer who witnessed the scene said, “A tall black man pointed a knife-like object at the police. A summons was issued, but he came forward and was shot by a policeman. Only one shot was fired,” said the witness.
The photographer said the victim was placed on a stretcher and evacuated to an area inaccessible to passengers.
