Charlotte – The Apple Store in Northlake Mall is permanently closed, according to the company website.
An argument between two people led to the final shooting at the mall outside Macy’s.
Police said no one was hurt, but four cars were shot. There was no word from the police about any arrests.
A new store is being planned in the Charlotte area, according to Apple’s website. It is not clear where that will be.

The ups and downs of shopping malls in Charlotte
Historian David Erdman witnessed the hustle and bustle of Charlotte’s shopping malls, but he also saw them go bankrupt.
“You have empty storefronts, and that sometimes leads to additional empty storefronts,” Erdmann said. “It would be tragic if a large commercial area like Northlake Mall started to falter because of tenants and businesses leaving and customers not wanting to come.”
Across town, remnants of the Eastland Mall have disappeared from the large space on Central Avenue. Once a popular destination for shoppers and community members, the mall closed as more stores pulled out of the building.
Channel 9 spoke with shop owners at No Grease, a Northlake barbershop, and they said they are aggressively seeking ways to move to a new location because of the recent shootings.
For shoppers like Dre Perkin, hope you don’t get to this point at Northlake Mall.
“That shooting… probably wasn’t even over anything of real value,” Birkin said. “And our life is priceless, you know your life is a priceless thing.”
