Apple released iOS 16.5 on Thursday to all users with a new Sports tab in the Apple News app. The tab acts as a hub for scores, match schedules, and articles about your favorite sports teams.
The company said that clicking on My Score Cards and My Sports Schedule will redirect you to the specific game’s page with additional information about it.
iOS 16.5 also brings a new Pride wallpaper and bug fixes for podcasts in CarPlay, unresponsive Spotlight, and screen time syncing.
Besides updating the iPhone software, Apple also released minor updates for other devices running iPadOS 16.5, macOS Ventura 16.4, and watchOS 9.5.
The company’s biggest upgrade with this release cycle was bringing multi-sports viewing to Apple TV fans. With this feature, users can watch up to four games simultaneously on Apple TV 4K. Currently, the multiplayer feature works with events like Major League Soccer games, Friday Night Baseball games, and some live MLS and MLB shows.
While we are just weeks away from the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), a report from… Macrumors Note earlier this week that Apple is already internally testing iOS16.6, and will soon release a beta to developers. This means that iOS 16.5 may not be the last major release before the event.
