There are 37 impeachments against Donald Trump
The former Republican president was accused of “withholding information related to national security” and “obstruction of justice.”
Donald Trump faces 37 charges in the White House records case, including ‘withholding national security information’ and ‘obstruction of justice’, the indictment made public on Friday.
The former Republican leader, who took file boxes as he left Washington, was accused of perjury and colluding with his aide, Walt Nauta, to hide documents sought by federal police.
Nuclear secrets
According to an indictment made public on Friday, the documents Donald Trump illegally kept after leaving the White House included US nuclear secrets.
“Secret documents kept in Trump boxes” included information on US and foreign defense capabilities and “nuclear programs” of the US. Prosecutors say their potential “spread would have endangered the national security of the United States.”
There is no connection between Biden and Trump
US President Joe Biden on Friday vowed not to contact Justice Secretary Merrick Garland over the classified documents that contained his predecessor Donald Trump’s historic impeachment.
“I have never spoken to him and will never speak to him. And I have no comment on that,” he told a reporter who questioned him. Supporters of the former Republican president accuse Joe Biden of instrumentalizing justice ahead of the 2024 presidential election, which could pit the two against each other again.
