Bebe Rexha feels “down” after seeing the trend of TikTok searches about her weight.
The 33-year-old singer took over Twitter on Sunday to share a screenshot from the short video app where she was presented with a video on her For You page. When I click to view the comments the “bebe rexha weight” search bar appears.
TikTok did not respond to Yahoo Life’s request for comment. However, the feature is said to show popular searches related to a particular video. Rexha shared her feelings about it on her Twitter post.
“Seeing this search bar is so annoying,” she wrote. “I’m not crazy because it’s true. I actually gained weight. But it’s too bad. Thank you to all the people who love me no matter what.”
People shared messages of support for Rexha in response tweets, including one that offered reassurance of her beauty and influence as a curvy woman.
One wrote, “You look amazing.” Another called the singer a “role model”.
Longtime beauty content creator Candy Johnson also shared TikTok’s call for changes to the algorithm that generates search bar terms.
Johnson: “This is bad and terrible! You have to do better on TikTok. Take care of the people on your platform and don’t make it toxic like this.” answered. “You’re so sweet and adorable, Baby! I’ll send you a huge extra hug for anything that breaks your heart even a little!”
This isn’t the first time Rexha has spoken out about her relationship with her body or her weight. In fact, she took to TikTok in December 2021 to say, “I don’t feel good in my own skin” while it was “the heaviest I’ve ever been.”
In light of the recent search bar results for TikTok, She continued tweeting, “I’ve always struggled with my weight. Bitch loves to eat.” And in response to a fan by reminding Rexha that her happiness is a priority, the artist books“I work on myself every day. Just a little frustrated now.”
Rexha’s last appearance was at Coachella on Friday, where she performed alongside DJ/producer duo Two Friends. Rexha has posted videos of her behind-the-scenes experience on TikTok, including a “get ready with me” Where she highlighted her body-hugging blue look.
“Look at my ass,” she exclaims during a clip that shows her heading to the stage. “Looks good.”
People praised her natural beauty and glamor on stage in the comments.
