Have you ever wanted to attend a private Taylor Swift concert?
Well, Cinemark is offering moviegoers a chance to rent out auditoriums to watch the filmed version of Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour,” which hits theaters on October 13. Swiftie Private Parties, as the stage rental is dubbed, costs $800 (plus taxes and fees) and can accommodate up to 40 people. That may seem like a lot of money, but remember that some Swifties paid the same amount for a single concert ticket for the pop star’s epic arena tour.
“We are excited to offer fans a VIP concert experience for ‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour’ in their Cinemark auditorium,” said Wanda Gerhart Fearing, chief marketing and content officer at Cinemark. “We were blown away by the exciting ticket sales for the event and are thrilled to add a new era to our fan-favorite private viewing parties with Swiftie Private Parties. Our larger screens and engaging surround sound provide an enchanting environment to sing and dance with friends and family at the party of the decade.”
Swift’s “Eras Tour” concert film, a showcase of her record-breaking stadium tour, also broke benchmarks at the (theatrical) box office. It has already garnered $26 million in pre-sale tickets, setting a single-day record for AMC Theaters, the film’s official distributor and the world’s largest movie theater chain. Given early demand, exhibitors believe this film has the potential to open in excess of $100 million, an unprecedented feat for the genre. In fact, only five movies were released this year — “Barbie,” “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.” 3, “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” — all hit triple digits on their debuts.
Excluding private theater rentals, prices are Swiftie coded with standard tickets priced at $19.89 for adults, $13.13 for children and seniors.
