DITP introduces Thai pet products to Taiwan market through Taipei Pet Show 2024.

Changing attitudes and lifestyles of the new generation in Taiwan are making the number of newborns less and less. In 2023, Taiwan will have the lowest birth rate in the world. There were 135,571 newborns, compared to the number of pets (dogs and cats) which are constantly increasing. According to statistics from the Taiwanese Ministry of Agriculture, in 2023, the number of dogs and cats registered as pets in Taiwan was more than 230,000, the total number of dogs registered as pets in Taiwan was 1.48 million, the number of cats registered as pets was 1.48 million, and the number is 1.31 million, with the number of people raising cats increasing at a higher rate than raising dogs. This is because cats require less space to raise than dogs. This is in line with the living conditions of Taiwanese people, who often live in housing units with limited space. Moreover, for every 3 households in Taiwan, there is one household with a pet at home. The total market value of pet products in Taiwan is estimated to be around 66,000 million baht annually.
