With only a few days left to complete the acquisition Twitter And fending off a new court date, billionaire Elon Musk walked into the company’s San Francisco office on Wednesday with what appeared to be a porcelain bathtub in his hands.

A person at the company confirmed to CNBC that Elon was visiting today, and noted that there were some internal concerns about what would happen to people on foreign worker visas. That person, who declined to be named to discuss internal matters, said employees are trying to keep going despite all the attention being given to the deal, and despite reports that Musk could crash the place with mass layoffs. Some employees say they feel that if he bought it, he could “burn everything if he wanted to”.
Staff in the office got brief information about the visit, according to an email sent by reporters from CNN And the Bloomberg.
The sender, identified by Bloomberg as Leslie Berland, Twitter’s chief marketing officer, wrote that Musk will be in the office this week “meeting people, walking the halls, and continuing to dive into the important work you’re all doing. If you’re in San Francisco and see him in Neighborhood, say hi!”
The email also said employees will listen live to Musk on Friday. A Twitter spokesperson declined to comment on the report or Musk’s tweet.

Musk has until 5 p.m. ET on Friday to complete his deal to buy Twitter or face a proposal to go to trial again. Twitter sued Musk when he tried to exit the $44 billion merger agreement by claiming Twitter wasn’t close about spam and bots on its platform, which he claimed would be a material negative impact. Twitter denied it.
A Delaware Chancery District Judge set the deadline on Friday after Musk said he was ready to buy Twitter after all. Twitter, not taking Musk at his word, wanted the court to remain engaged. The judge ended up postponing the original trial that was scheduled last week and giving the parties until the end of this week to close the deal, or else it will set a new trial date in November.
