Glenn Simmons' attorney explained that the damages were $7.15 million. It was a partial settlement of his lawsuit against the city and police for tampering with evidence. To frame him for murder, for which Glenn Simmons was imprisoned for a tragically long time for a crime he did not commit;
“Even though he will never get that time back. But his settlement with the city of Edmond will help him move forward. Another lawsuit could be filed,” the attorney said. A spokesman for the city of Edmond declined to provide further information on the matter.
