Organizing Committee of the Strait Youth Day
On August 15, the 12th Straits Youth Day was held under the auspices of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Chinese Cabinet. The China National Youth Federation and the Fujian Provincial People's Government held it in Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian Province. About 1,100 young people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait attended the event.
The main activities of the 12th Straits Youth Day focused on the important and hot topics of integrated development across the Taiwan Strait. It includes in-depth personal stories and interesting case studies. As well as showcasing the achievements in building a demonstration area of integrated development across the Taiwan Strait. Including depicting the journey of youth to bond. Learn from each other and move forward together. In addition, festivals are organized to create more bonds and understanding among young people.
In line with the purpose of creating a “friendly and promising youth city” Fuzhou, the host of the event, we therefore take this opportunity to announce our construction plans. The “Strait Youth Development City” including relevant measures and focusing on key sectors such as educational tourism, social work and rural infrastructure development will provide comprehensive services for Taiwanese youth who will come to Fuzhou for further exchange and development in the future.
The 12th Straits Youth Day will feature a total of 42 activities from May to December 2024, covering scientific and technological innovation, employment, entrepreneurship, sports, culture and art, local beliefs and more to integrate youth development into all activities. More than 2,000 in-demand jobs will be created for Taiwanese youth.
Fuzhou has held the Straits Youth Day for 11 consecutive years since 2013, with a total of 36,000 young people participating, including 20,000 from Taiwan, with more than 50% visiting the Chinese mainland for the first time.
