Manchester City's Diamond League manager Pep Guardiola acknowledges Erling Haaland The Norwegian striker is a player who no one can replace. Showing his ferocious form, he scored his 10th hat-trick for the Blues in the 4-1 win over Ipswich Town in the Premier League on Saturday.
Haaland moved from Borussia Dortmund to play at the Etihad Stadium in 2022, where the player became one of the main players by helping the team win several titles and scored 101 goals in 94 matches he played in all competitions and 67 goals in 68 matches he played in the Premier League.
The Norwegian star's latest hat-trick against Ipswich was his tenth hat-trick with Manchester City and his seventh in the English Premier League, joining the legend Wayne Rooney of Manchester United.
Guardiola revealed that Haaland has become a stronger player since joining Manchester City and is an irreplaceable player. “With us missing Oscar (Pope) who can play in that position because he did a really good job, but of course there is no replacement for Erling.”
“I like it when he runs a lot. I like it when he presses like a wild animal, it really helps me score a lot of goals. When you have contact with the game you are also connected to the attacking game. If you lose contact with the game when the ball comes to you you can be surprised. He can't do anything right.”
“They know what they have to do. His body language helps us. If the centre-back gets the ball, he runs straight away. He's very scary. It helps that his team-mates support him in the middle. We'll be more effective in the high press.”
“We need him. There is no denying that. If he doesn't score, it doesn't matter. But you want him to score goals.” The 'big boss' of Barcelona and the 'tigers of the south' of Bayern Munich declared
