Google launched the brand's latest smartwatch, the Pixel Watch 3, a few days ago. It says it supports offline use of Google Maps.
Google recently released an update to support Google Maps offline for other Wear OS smartwatches.
Such offline Google Maps features will allow the smartwatch to be used to navigate to a destination. Even if you do not link its functions to an internet-connected smartwatch.
Google Maps Offline Feature Updated to Google Maps Beta 1.140.0701.W for Wear OS Once the update is complete, the Offline Maps option will appear at the top of the Settings option.
The updated Google Maps app automatically downloads the offline map selected by the user to the smartphone while connecting it to the smartphone.
The app will only sync maps when the smartwatch is connected to Wi-Fi and charged. The downloaded map will display an icon indicating that it refuses to work with the cloud. This confirms that it can be used offline clearly for users to see.
Google has now released a major update for its Pixel Watch 2 smartwatch, and it is expected to expand the update to include other smartwatches running Wear OS in the future.
