Iranian Navy More than 2,000 missile launch systems have been put into service with the fleet to deal with electronic warfare. Amid tensions over Israel
Iran's state news agency Tasnim reported that the Navy has put into operation a large number of new cruise missiles. These munitions are capable of carrying high-explosive warheads. Which cannot be detected, including wide-area damage and causing the target to sink in the sea.
The Iranian military says 2,654 of these new missile systems are medium- and long-range. Some are strategic missiles. But they cannot be disclosed for security reasons.
The installation is intended to deal with electronic warfare. As well as to ensure that the Navy has the equipment that can attack with precision, speed, maneuverability and modernity.
The move comes amid tensions in the Middle East. Following the killing of Ismail Haniyeh, Hamas's political leader arrived in Tehran. Iran believes the killing was the work of Israel and has vowed to take revenge.
The United States, Israel's main ally, has sent warships and fighter jets to the region to deal with the tensions and protect American personnel.
By yesterday, August 9, the US State Department revealed yesterday that the administration of President Joe Biden had approved a budget of $3.5 billion, or 130 billion baht, to purchase weapons from local manufacturers to send to assist Israel.
