A three-team trade that would have seen Kristaps Porzingis traded from the Washington Wizards to the Boston Celtics and guard Malcolm Brogdon join the Los Angeles Clippers, sixth man of the year, fell through, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Wojnarowski added that the Wizards and Celtics are still working on a potential Porzenegis deal, but the Clippers will not be a part of it. Porzingis has a one-year, $36 million player option — with a midnight deadline for selection — remaining on his deal with Washington that he must pick in order for the potential trade to happen, ESPN reported.
Per longtime NBA reporter Mark SteinHowever, the deal collapsed due to “concerns raised by the Clippers about the injury status of Malcolm Brogdon.”
According to multiple reports, the Wizards were slated to acquire Celtics forward Danilo Gallinari, Clippers forward Marcus Morris, guard Amir Coffey and No. 30 pick overall (via Clippers) in 2023 NBA draft in the bargain.
