Seabin, the technology that helps restore the beauty of the sea is one of the inventions that will help solve the problem of litter in the sea. It is an important factor in destroying the marine ecosystem, as both aquatic animals and coral reefs cause pollution and take a long time to decompose
The problem of litter in the sea is one of the big problems that affects many countries around the world. Which has a wide impact on the entire marine ecosystem. Creating air pollution which is the main reason that leads the world to global warming.
For the reasons mentioned above, there has been a campaign to stop dumping garbage and waste into the sea for decades. In addition, there are many innovations being invented to help reduce the problem of litter in the sea. An interesting innovation called “Seabin” was invented by Australian surfers Pete Ceglinski and Andrew Turton Seabin, both of whom were tired of seeing all this trash in the ocean. So, we work together to create innovations that help restore the sea.
Sea Bins, or Seabin, is one of the startup projects of two young Australians who want to offer something unique, practical and capable of helping our world. This innovation acts as a trash can at sea. They float on top of the water and this ensures that no aquatic animals get stuck in the bin. It affects the ecosystem
Seabin can filter bile. and floating debris masses. It works as a water pump that rotates 24 hours a day, and this machine sucks waste from the surface of the water. It filters out oil and detergent stains, can collect 1.5kg of debris per day and can hold up to 12kg before needing to be disposed of. Humans are responsible for taking out the trash only when it is full.
This innovation is not suitable for the open sea. There are a lot of sea waves. But it is suitable for traffic areas used by people. This is an area with litter and pollution problems like the “Marinas”.
Today, Seabin is a successful innovation. It is very popular in Australia and this could reduce 90 tons of waste from the ocean floor in 2020 and 2022. Seabin has recorded a total of 7,300 pounds (3.3 tons) of waste, and this innovation is now being implemented. And its use in the United States. The city of Los Angeles, California, in Marina del Rey
