Warning – the rest of this article contains spoilers for episode five of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
In dramatic fashion, the first signs of Matt Murdock’s red compatible ego appeared on screen in Episode 5 when the camera passed his red clothes and landed On the new mask with the golden horn he will wear in a later episode. While the jury is still out on where Matt himself is, fans now know his suit was made by Luke Jacobson, the same person who helped Jen upgrade her own wardrobe.
On the one hand, it’s an exciting development as fans learn that the Fearless Guy is finally getting close to his first act as a superhero on Disney+, which was shown during the promotional tour for Strong woman. Plus, it’s bringing some of his potential past into question as discussions continue over whether Charlie Cox’s work as Daredevil on Netflix is canon with the MCU — especially thanks to one character who was replaced in Episode 5.
MCU Trades Daredevil Suit Designer for She-Hulk’s
Episode 5 of Marvel Studios’ She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Confirmed that Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock is now working with Los Angeles-based designer Luke Jacobson on the Daredevil costume.
The suit was teased in the final seconds of the episode as the camera zoomed in on a bundle with a new gold mask, complete with horns on top. This is the same mask that fans saw Daredevil use in two seconds of trailer footage that premiered during Strong womanpromotional offer.
With Murdock and Jacobson now working together, this suggests the Los Angeles designer has taken charge of Melvin Potter from reckless A series to make Matt Murdock’s suit, if the Netflix original is considered canon with the MCU.
Potter was the character who originally made Daredevil’s main suit at the end of the first season, although things took a turn for the worse later in the series. He was forced by Kingpin at Vincent D’Onofrio to make a new suit for Ben Poindexter/Bullseye in order to frame Matt Murdock, though Potter eventually told Murdock about the plan.
The costume designer ended up being arrested by the FBI for breaching his parole while Murdock brought down Bullseye and Kingpin, and Potter was eventually put in prison.
If this story is canon in the MCU, that’s probably why Murdock goes to Jacobson in search of a new Daredevil suit. Potter won’t be able to make one out of prison, and it will also give him a chance to get something new to try and separate himself from the Bullseye incident.
The reckless, mysterious future in the MCU
Strong woman It will be the first time that fans will see Daredevil outside of his natural home in New York City as he interacts with another major Marvel attorney on the West Coast. And as soon as it comes, Some of these questions about the state of the canon of reckless from Netflix There may be an answer, but this episode still leaves those mysteries open.
It makes perfect sense that Matt Murdock would find a new designer of the suit if Melvin Potter was still in prison, although it’s still unknown what exactly drives him to fly 3,000 miles from Hell’s Kitchen home. Another point is that it would be difficult to get a superhero uniform like airport security if he chose this travel option, as the drive would likely be something he couldn’t handle due to his blurring of vision.
On the other hand, this might just be a way to get the fearless guy to make a fresh start in the MCU, where he could be early in his career as a champ or just get an upgrade to his outfit. And in the end, this may not be a question answered in the She-Hulk solo series, Because Daredevil will only exist in one of the next four episodes.
Hopefully more of these questions will be answered for fan favorite Cox, especially soon after he’s finished 18 months to start his next solo journey Daredevil: Born Again. With this development being so recent, things could change drastically for a blind attorney as his tenure in the MCU moves forward.
