Ask people in the area to be aware of the dangers of flash flooding and heavy to very heavy rains that can cause flash flooding. This includes areas of mountain slopes especially near waterways and low lying areas.
This is because monsoons move low and stay across the northern region. Southwest Monsoon will intensify over Northeast and Upper Central region and over Andaman Sea, Thailand and Gulf of Thailand. A low pressure area over upper Laos will move through the upper north. and Myanmar
The following provinces are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rain at some places:
On August 26, 2024
North : Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lampang, Phayo, Nan, Phrey, Uttaradit, Pitsanulok and Phetchabun provinces.
Northeast : Loi Province, Nong Khai, Phueng Khanh, Nong Bua Lambu, Udon Thani, Sakhon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Siapham, Khon Kaen, Kalasin, Maha Saragam, Nakhon Ratchasima and Buriram.
Central region : Lopburi, Saraburi, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Nakhon Pathom and Samut Sakhon provinces, including Bangkok and surrounding areas.
Eastern zone : Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Chanthaburi and Trat Provinces.
South : Surat Thani Province Nakhon Si Thammarat, Pattalung, Songkhla, Yala, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun.
On August 27, 2024

Northeast : Sayapham, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani provinces.
Central region : Nakhon Sawan, Udai Thani, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom and Samut Sakhon provinces, including Bangkok and surrounding areas.
Eastern zone : Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Chachhongchao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Drat provinces.
South : Phetchaburi Province Prasup Khiri Khan, Sumbon, Surat Thani, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket and Krabi.
As for wind waves in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand, they will start strengthening. On 27-29 August 2024, there are storm surges of 2-3 meters in the Upper Andaman Sea, while in the upper Gulf of Thailand, waves of 2 meters are expected. In areas of 1-2 meters, waves of more than 2 meters are heard. Proceed with caution and thunderstorms. Avoid traveling in rainy areas. Even on these days small boats in the upper Andaman should avoid leaving the shore.
