“Never in the history of the conference has an incident occurred in which a delegate approached a theater who was not authorized to be there,” CinemaCon Managing Director Mitch Neuhauser told CNN in a statement. “In light of this incident, we are re-evaluating our security measures to ensure the safety of all those present,” he added.
The envelope contained legal documents relating to Wilde’s two children with her ex-fiancé, actor Jason Sudeikis, a source familiar with the matter told CNN.
“Mr Sudeikis has no prior knowledge of when or where the envelope could have been delivered as this would only be for the process service company involved and would not condone an inappropriate submission,” the source said. .
CNN has contacted representatives for Wilde and Sudeikis for comment.
After opening the envelope, Wilde said “Okay, I see. Thank you” and continued her presentation.
