Harvey Weinstein sentenced to 16 years in prison for rape
Harvey Weinstein, the former Hollywood producer swept by the #MeToo wave, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for rape in Los Angeles.
At age 70, former producer Harvey Weinstein has been sentenced to another 16 years in prison after being sentenced to 23 years in prison at an earlier trial.

Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein was sentenced Thursday in Los Angeles to 16 years in prison for raping and sexually assaulting a European model in 2013.
The 70-year-old former “king” of cinema, the producer of award-winning films such as “Pulp Fiction,” faces up to 18 years in prison for his actions at the Beverly Hills hotel.
He is already serving 23 years in prison for similar facts in New York in 2020, and because he appealed, he will end his days behind bars.
Before his sentence was announced, Harvey Weinstein announced that he intended to appeal his conviction in Los Angeles.

In addition to his legal setbacks in the United States, the former producer was charged in the United Kingdom with sexual assaults dating back to 1996.
