Rocco’s Steakhouse strengthens its presence in Manhattan with a second location

The elegantly appointed Rocco’s Steakhouse has drawn lovers of Italian prime beef, veal and briny chicken to 72 Madison Ave. Almost 10 years ago.

Now adding a second location at 100 E. 57th St. , the former home of the original BLT Steak, which closed a few months ago.

Rocco signed a lease for 3,500 square feet on the ground, 1,350 square feet in the basement, and 600 square feet on a mezzanine for a private dining room.

Jared Luck of CBRE and Andrew Goldberg acted on behalf of the owner, Dorchester Flats Co-op. Colliers David Tricarico and Christel Engel defended the tenant.

The required rent was $200 per square foot on the land, which Lack called “a very reasonable number” today although “it was certainly lower than prices 10 years ago.”

When the venue became available, he said, he and Goldberg found that it immediately attracted interest from “who’s who” from major restaurants.

The new Rocco will likely have approximately 175 seats including the private room. Rocco Trotta and GM Pete Pjetrovic are partners in the project.
