After a long absence from the Hurricane family of running shoes, stable running shoes for people with flat feet and also Max Cushion, the brand's highest shock absorption, this time. Typhoon Socony 24 Back in more premium foam. And what would this running shoe look like? Let's move on to the review.
The Max Pillow comes with a foam top.
The Hurricane 24 has been updated to use two types of midsole foam, using a soft and responsive PWRRUN PB upper foam that has high energy return as well as soft and dense PWRRUN foam as the outer frame to help maintain stability and there is also CenterPath technology designed to keep our feet centered. It is a foam that cushions and protects the foot to ensure it stays centered during the run.
There is also a design to make the floor smooth and flat. Especially on the inside of the foot. To support people with flat feet and get stability. Not to fall feet inward while walking or running. And the toes are curved. Provides a smooth forward flow.
Distinctive design
The upper comes with a luxurious design. It uses a soft engineering mesh upper, not too thin, not too thick, plus FORMFIT technology, a structure to strengthen the midfoot to the heel. It makes the shoes look better and more distinctive. The heel itself has a heel counter placed inside to help stabilize the heel so it does not fall off. And inside is a soft sponge lining.
The outdoor floor is designed in a regional style.
The rubber outsole is zoned. The rubber is thick and provides good traction. Both types of foam can be seen from underneath and it is clear that the PWRRUN actually has a PWRRUN PB foam frame which is smooth underfoot. Especially through the paws.
This running shoe features a 6mm drop, 38mm heel, 32mm forefoot, and weighs 334g in a men's size 10US, which is no surprise considering the cushioning and shock absorption system is this thick.
Performance and wearability
First time trying these running shoes. Feel the luxury of the design and use of upper foam in stable running shoes like this. Definitely want to raise the bar to the highest level in this line. Compared to the Guide 17, a similar running shoe, the Hurricane 24 is more supportive. Both in terms of comfort and the feeling of support and confidence when wearing it.
The mesh upper is designed not too thick and not too thin. The fabric is soft and flexible. It gives a comfortable feeling at the tip of the foot. The midfoot feels stable thanks to FORMFIT technology, and the heel area with soft foam padding holds the heel very well. It gives confidence and a feeling of great support.
The ventilation aspect is considered to be well done at the right level. They are not as breathable and comfortable as the competition shoes. But they are not so bad that they are damp. Suitable for walking wear them for daily use or you can still wear them and run well without your feet getting hot. The tongue of the shoe is thick and soft. I did not feel any pressure on my feet from the ropes being tied.
For the middle floor, the first feeling when you put it on was that the bottom of the foot was very soft and comfortable. Because it is a first-class foam like the PWRRUN PB, which is known for its softness. The foam seems to surround the foot and protect it well. This is the most important feature of the CenterPath technology, and when running, you will notice a clear return force from the PWRRUN PB foam. The PWRRUN foam frame enhances stability when landing and lifting the foot. The curved toe provides a smooth forward run. But it is not too prickly, it flows just right.
The cushioning is very well designed, and the comfort and support are top notch for the brand. At 334 grams in a men's size 10US, it's about the expected weight for this type of running shoe. With a design that emphasizes support and shock absorption, it's no surprise that it has such a large weight. When running, I don't feel a lot of weight on my feet because the PWRRUN PB foam helps return energy and the upper itself holds the foot in place well. It makes running time feel like one.
Adhesion is good. On the day of the test there was some waterlogging due to the rain that had fallen earlier. Running across wet floors did not feel slippery at all. However, there is some slickness when walking across smooth wet tile floors, which is normal for new and durable shoe soles.
Typhoon Suaocny Summary 24 Comments
Overall, it is well made and a perfect fit for stable running shoes for people with excellent flat feet, the PWRRUN PB foam combined with the frame with PWRRUN, makes it energy return and responsive, does not feel sticky when running, does not sink and remains stable. Put your feet on with confidence. With CenterPath technology, it provides support for the foot. Hugs the feet, wear it and feel comfortable and secure, no need to worry about wobbling. The fabric is soft and comfortable and locks the heel well. The Saucony Hurricane 24 is for people with flat feet who want good supportive running shoes. The running is a little more fun, the ground doesn’t sag, sink, or get sticky, but it still has good cushioning. People with normal feet and a lot of weight will be a good fit. In addition to the design, I think this pair looks good. There’s a premium quality to it. Personally, I’d consider this another good pair of running shoes for stability and support in 2024.
