Media mogul and former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi, who died on June 12 at the age of 86, bequeathed 100 million euros to his last girlfriend, Marta Pacina, 33, according to his will on Thursday.
Marta Pacina, whom Berlusconi calls “my wife” even when they are not married, is also a member of the Forza Italia party founded by the billionaire. Loved or hated, this amateur has been involved in countless cases of sultry and controversial receptions with women much younger than him, including call girls.
Compared to Silvio Berlusconi’s legacy, his last companion will benefit from a significant but entirely modest legacy, estimated by Forbes at 6.4 billion euros, most of which will go to his five children from two marriages. And its content was made public by the Italian agency Ansa.
The disposition of his many real estate holdings or his yachts was not immediately known.
Running a powerful family
Marina and Pier Silvio Berlusconi, born from the media magnate’s first marriage to Carla Dal Oglio, will own 53% of the family firm Fininvest, a financial source told AFP after opening his will. Three other children, Luigi, Eleonora and Barbara, from his second marriage to former actress Veronica Lario, will together control the remaining 47%.
Mr. Berlusconi had made these arrangements for Fininvest before he was hospitalized in Milan in 2006. The family holding company controls numerous companies, including Mediafor Europe (formerly Mediaset) led by Pier Silvio Berlusconi, Montatori Editions led by Marina Berlusconi, and Mediolanum Bank.
The family’s net profit fell 44% last year to 200.2 million euros, while its revenue was almost flat at 3.82 billion euros.
“Much love to you all”
Berlusconi, who dominated Italian political life for decades, was accompanied by a handwritten note for his children in his will: “Thank you, much love to you all, your father”.
Mr. Berlusconi, the origins of the fortune remain a mystery, and gave 100 million euros to his brother Paolo, as well as 30 million euros to his close friend and partner Marcello Dell’Udri, co-founder of Forza Italia, during his tenure. He was jailed in the 2010s for acting as an intermediary between Berlusconi and the Sicilian mafia, Cosa Nostra, in the 1970s.
Marta Fascina and Mr. The provisions relating to Dell’Utri, written in black ink, in an unsealed envelope, dated January 2022, are justified by their author as follows: “For the love I have shown them and the love they have brought me”.
