Steve Harvey wants you to know that his Twitter post about unfunny comedians came from an employee, not him.
The post — which was posted to his page last week — asked followers to name a comedian they don’t “find funny at all.” According to Revolution, he has earned over a million opinions before it was removed from his account.
In a video clip, Steve advertiser He was on a hunting trip at the time and never claimed the job.
“One of the people who works for me on my Twitter account posted a statement that was totally negative. I have to take responsibility for it because they work for me, but the engagement was about ‘name a comedian you don’t think is funny’. Why would I do something like that?” he asked rhetorically.
He continued, “It just doesn’t make any sense. My whole brand is to be motivational, so am I going to turn around and say something like that? You don’t know where these guys are.” [are] In their career, man. They could be coming or something. I’m all about positivity. I would never do something like this.
Steve said he was “very angry” and that he also confronted the employee, who apparently told Steve that they were trying to increase engagement on his social media.
“Okay, well, you’re trying to get some jobs too,” Steve continued. “Oh my God everyone. Now I have to come over here and take a selfie. And lo and behold: I’m sorry man. Oh my God, oh my God.” [It] It won’t happen again, though.”
