Thai stocks closed 12.09 points higher in response to lower bond yields and a weaker dollar. The overall market is starting to see a recovery: InfoQuest

• The stock market closed today at 1,391.03 points, an increase of 12.09 points (+0.88%), with a trading value of 61,137.63 million baht.

• Stock trading today and the index has continued to rise since yesterday. The highest point was 1398.65 points and the lowest point was 1382.13 points.

• As for changes in securities today, 328 securities rose, 146 securities decreased, and 173 securities remained.

The Thai stock market continued to rise today, said Mr Kornphat Warachit, Director of Research and Investment Services at Krungsri Patanasin Securities. US government bond yields (bond yields) continue to decline. This corresponds to a weak dollar. After the US Federal Reserve sent a clear signal to cut interest rates in 2024, it is entering a downtrend.

It was also supported by the release of Chinese economic data. There are signs of recovery, including the Chinese central bank injecting 800 billion yuan of liquidity, the highest monthly liquidity injection rate ever.

Meanwhile, the Thai stock market is starting to show a picture of recovery after falling significantly. Groups with strong purchasing power such as AOT, as well as energy, power plants and petrochemical groups, benefited from lower bond yields and a weaker dollar. This led to an increase in the value of the baht.

The trend is expected next week that the stock market is still in the recovery phase. This is done by continuing to announce the names of stocks entering and exiting the SET50 and SET100 indexes, but they enter a period close to the Christmas holiday. This makes the overall trading picture likely to be lighter.
