The Civil Service Commission makes it clear that it does not recognize academic qualifications and the University of California reserves the right to prosecute those who pretend to lie.


The Civil Service Commission clarifies that it does not recognize the qualifications of the University of California educational institution as some falsely claim. It reserves the right to take legal action against those involved. Disclosure of higher education institutions in the state of California Qualifications must be accredited by WSCUC or WASC only.

The Civil Service Bureau Office issued a press release today (July 13) to the media stating that based on the information being published, the Bureau has obtained qualifications accredited by the University of California / University of California FCE in the United States and the Civil Service Bureau Office would like to clarify the following details.

1. The Office of the Civil Service Commission shall have the authority and responsibility to proceed with the certification of qualifications of holders of certificates of competence or other qualifications for the purpose of appointing and placing civil servants and determining rates of salaries or bonuses.

2. In the case of educational qualifications from abroad, the Civil Service Commission Office will consider certifying educational qualifications from educational institutions that have been accredited with educational institution status by agencies having jurisdiction under the laws of that country that may be appointed to the government service. Since the United States has no government agency responsible for accrediting educational institutions, any educational institution in the United States must be accredited by an independent, non-profit agency (non-profit organization) that accredits educational institutions. Or professional organizations responsible for accrediting professional standards.

3. In the case of California higher education institutions must be accredited by the WASC Senior Colleges and Universities Commission (WSCUC), formerly known as the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), therefore, only graduates of California higher education institutions accredited by WSCUC or WASC will be certified by the Civil Service Commission as having the qualifications to be hired and appointed as government employees.

4. In the case of educational institutions appearing in the news, the Civil Service Bureau has previously investigated them. It was found that no government agency/unit has sent information about graduates of the mentioned educational institutions to the Bureau. The Civil Service Bureau is considering certifying qualifications for appointment and appointment as civil servants.

5. After checking the Civil Service Bureau's qualification certificate database, it is found that the screenshot indicating that the Civil Service Bureau certifies the qualifications of the University of California, USA, which appears in the media is not information from the Civil Service Bureau's database in any way. However, in the event that information is provided that insinuates and causes harm to the Civil Service Bureau, the Civil Service Bureau reserves the right to take legal action against the relevant person.
