The Ravens made a series of roster moves on Friday before opening training camp next week.
Baltimore has placed outside linebacker Tyus Bowser on its list for non-football injuries. At the end of the mini, head coach John Harbaugh said Bowser’s knee “fired for some reason” upon his return to the field that season. Bowser returned from Achilles tendon surgery last season to play in the last nine games, making 13 tackles and two sack.
Baltimore also placed five players on its “Puppy” (PUP) roster to start camp: linebacker JK Dobbins, linebacker Patrick Rickard, linebacker Pepe Williams, defensive tackle Richard Nichols and wide receiver Mike Thomas.
Harbaugh previously said that Ricard, who has gone to four Pro Bowls in a row, will start on the PUP roster as he returns from off-season hip surgery. Harbaugh also expressed doubts during the mini-camp that Williams would be ready by the start of camp.
Dobbins did not participate in the minicamp as he continued to attempt to return to 100% physical condition with his surgically repaired knee. Dobbins reported to camp with other injured veterans Thursday. He and the rest of the players can exit the list at any time.
One of the injured veterans, Rashod Pitman, has been placed on reserve/not reported. He was suspended for a mini camp after he had a cortisone shot in his foot to aid in recovery. Bateman was present and did one-on-one trainings during voluntary OTAs.
“I’ve spoken to Rashod and we expect him to be here very soon,” General Manager Eric D’Costa said.
