The new iPad Pro appears to be getting closer and closer to launch, with previous reports stating it would be in late March. Recently, information about the size of the device began to appear. What's interesting is that both iPad Pro sizes this time will have a much thinner body than before!
9to5mac reveals information about the size and proportions of the two new iPad Pro models equipped with OLED displays. As I said, the thinness of the device is much better than the previous model, as follows.
- iPad Pro 11-inch (current model): 247.6 x 178.5 x 5.9 mm.
- iPad Pro 11″ (new model with OLED screen): 249.7 x 177.5 x 5.1 mm.
- iPad Pro 12.9-inch (current model): 280.6 x 214.9 x 6.4 mm.
- iPad Pro 13-inch (new model with OLED display): 281.5 x 215.5 x 5.0 mm.
You can see that the overall size of the device is a little larger than before, but the thinness has also decreased, for example, the iPad Pro 13″ is only 5mm thick, compared to the previous model, it is 28% thinner. You'll likely benefit from the new OLED display, which has a thinner panel than the original LCD.
There's also a 12.9-inch larger-screen iPad Air model that's expected to launch this year. The size of the device will be 280.6 x 214.9 x 6.0 mm, and is considered similar to the current iPad Pro 12.9-inch model, but the thickness has been reduced slightly.
