Woody Harrelson Urges Matthew McConaughey To Take A DNA Test, Brothers – Variety

Woody Harrelson is currently making the press rounds in support of HBO’s new limited series “The White House Plumber,” which means he was only bound to be asked about Matthew McConaughey’s recent revelation that the two actors may actually be biological brothers. Harrelson confirmed the news during an interview on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.”

“Well, I’ll just say there’s some validity to that thought because we’ve talked to Ma’ Mac, Matthew’s legitimate mother, and she told us once… I mean, that’s crazy,” said Harrelson. “We were in Greece watching the USA win the World Cup and I don’t know, you mentioned something about regret. And I said, ‘You know, it’s weird that Dad has no regrets.'” And she’s known Mac for a long time, and she said, “I knew …your father.” These ellipses were a little unsettling or interesting He knew your father.”

Similar to McConaughey’s version of the story, Harrelson immediately realized that Ma’ Mac’s ad was “full of innuendo”.

“general [Matthew’s] Giving birth, nine months ago, she was on sabbatical from her relationship with his supposed father, Jim,” Harrelson added.

As McConaughey said in his version of the story, “[Woody’s] My dad was on vacation at the same time that my mom and dad were going through their second divorce. Then there are potential receipts and places in West Texas where there might be a gathering, meeting, or “well-known” moment. “

Harrelson said he was pushing to get a DNA test to find out once and for all if he and McConaughey were related. The two actors are longtime friends and co-starred on ‘EDtv’ and ‘True Detective’. They are currently planning an on-screen reunion with the Apple TV+ comedy series “Brother From Another Mother,” in which they will star as fictionalized versions of themselves as they move their families together under one room on a Texas ranch.

“We want to go get it [DNA] Harrelson said. “I mean, he feels like he’s losing a father. But I’m like, no, you’re gaining a different father and brother.”

“Look, it’s a little easier for Woody to say, ‘Come on, let’s do it. ‘” [DNA tests], “Because what skin is in it?” McConaughey said earlier in the month. “It’s a little bit harder for me because he’s asking me to take the opportunity to go, ‘Wait a minute, you’re trying to tell me my dad might not be my dad after 53 years to believe it?'” “I got more skin in the game.”

In the title of “Brother From Another Mother,” Apple TV+ describes the show as “a strange, heartfelt love story about the strange and beautiful relationship between Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.”
