YouTube is testing an interactive AI feature that will help users get real-time information from the videos they watch.
This new AI feature is still in the beta stages and will only be available to Android Premium users over the age of 18 in the US.
When users turn on this feature, they will find an “Ask” button below some videos. Pressing the button will allow you to ask questions related to the video content while watching. You can choose from existing questions or write your own.
Examples of commands that can be entered include requesting a summary of the content or asking about videos with similar content, and YouTube's AI will then process the clip content along with the questions entered. He will answer questions as the clip plays.
Android Authority found that when testing the AI feature, answers were accurate and fast. This may come from Google having previously analyzed these clips before launching this feature for testing.
It was also found that most English-language or subtitled content has a “subtract” button, while multilingual content or music videos do not have this feature below the clip.
YouTube says it will only test this feature until May 1st.
